Chelsea may kill me for posting this on both blogs, but it was too big of a project not to blog about. My friend Emily spent all evening and night right before Christmas break helping me make this apron. We actually cut material to make 5 which took 1/2 the night and only finished sewing this one. It turned out so cute. I can't wait to finish the rest.

Crochet
Brianna has been crocheting up a storm. Everything is SO cute! I could just die. She gave me a quick little crochet lesson the other day, and I am dying to make something cute RIGHT NOW!

New Flowers
I went to the Bijou Market last weekend in Provo and nearly died at the cuteness. The first must make item was felt flowers. I left the market and went straight to the craft store. I made a few flowers for my hair and this felt flower necklace.
I need to stop taking crappy cell phone pictures. This really is cute...I promise.

Cheesecake/Craft Night=Burlap Wreaths
Recipe dinner group turned into craft night this month. It started with Angie's delicious pumpkin cheesecake that we were dying to have again. We decided to add a craft to the baking and picked burlap wreaths. They turned out so cute, but the burlap was sort of a pain.
my finished product
Here's the link to make the wreath. http://www.laforcebewithyou.com/2010/08/guest-project-burlap-wreath-tutorial_09.html

Jeans
I am in LOVE with my newly hemmed with the original hem jeans. I feel like I have brand new jeans, and they don't look like somebody's grandma did it. They look amazing. My friend Bonnie is super talented and basically did it for me. I love not tripping on my pants. Thanks Bonnie!
The basic how to of this is cut the jeans the length you want, unpick the hem, cut excess fabric, and sew the hem back on your jeans. Let me know if you need more details.

Craft Night Out
My friend Bonny hosted a Craft Night Out. The craft for the night was a candy corn wreath. It looked way more intense than it actually was. It ended up being really easy and a lot of fun. I haven't seen Bonny in over a year so it was really fun to catch up with her and meet a couple of her friends. I love how it turned out so much that I'm thinking of repeating the craft with spray painted beans for the winter holidays.

More Headbands
People always comment on my flowers that I wear in my hair practically every day. I made a couple a few weeks ago to give as gifts. I get "you should sell those" all the time. I sometimes wonder if I should sell them or other things or if it would just be a huge pain in the rear.

Bedroom Crafts
My bedroom is finally on the verge of done. Here are a couple of my projects for my room.
this is a little weird, but i kind of like it. i painted a canvas the same color as my dresser and spray painted twigs the same color as the dresser handles. i hot glued the twigs and sealed with spray mod podge.
Chalkboard Coasters
I've been dying to make these chalkboard coaster for months. I think they turned out so cute. I found a tutorial online, but I can't remember where. I didn't take pictures along the way, but here's the step by step.
Supplies
*$0.16 tiles from Home Depot
*chalkboard paint (can find at Home Depot, craft stores, Wal-mart)
*acrylic paint in various colors
*sticky back felt
*diamond glaze or something else to seal the acrylic paint
1. The original tutorial said to sand the tiles first before painting them. I didn't do that, but it might be a good idea.
2. Paint tiles with chalkboard paint. It may take 2-3 coats. Make sure to let paint completely dry before next coat.
3. Paint design in corner of coaster.
4. Seal with diamond or other glaze. Only paint the design so the rest of the coaster is still a chalkboard.
5. Cut small squares of felt and put on back of tile so it doesn't scratch surfaces.
Wrap in cellophane with a piece of chalk. It's the perfect gift.

Craft Afternoon
A few weeks ago, a couple girls at work and I decided to skip work and have craft day. Too bad that plan didn't make it to my calendar. Kimber, Brianna, Holly, and I got together for a day (or afternoon in my case) of crafting fun. They made really cute fall wreaths. Holly and I made more fabric flowers. Brianna and Kimber working on some of the cutest baby hats I have ever seen. I was dying over the gray and yellow one.
the brim on this little boy hat is killing me
this is a baby hat, but i MUST have it immediately

Holidays
I LOVE holidays...all holidays, and I LOVE holiday decorations. My current residence is not all that conducive to holiday decorating, but I pulled out a few things tonight. Makes me a little excited for the holidays to start.

Sneak Peek
My room has been a major work in progress, but it is finally starting to progress a little. Here's a little preview of what may one day be a finished project...hopefully. I painted these canvases brown and ordered vinyl for the picture. I think it turned out pretty cute. Now I just need to get them on the wall.

Kiddie Paintings
I wish I could say I painted these, but I didn't. My super talented roommate, Nettie, did. I think they are so cute. I really NEED the owl RIGHT NOW! I need to figure out how to convince her to draw the owl for me so I can paint it.

Cooking Craft
I don't know if this can really be considered a craft, but it kind of looks like it. I saw this fruit parfait in a magazine yesterday and just HAD to make it. I ran to IKEA last night to buy the glasses. I think it turned out so cute. Everyone said it tasted good too. It was so easy...fruit, greek yogart mixed with honey, another layer of fruit and yogurt and topped with toasted coconut. Might be my new favorite.

my Saturday night
might be kind of a lame Saturday night for a single girl. but i thought it was pretty fun. cute huh?!?
Crafting
Is CRAFTING a verb? I think it is. I have been dreaming of being a stay at home crafter, but since someone has to pay the bills around this place I just craft when I have time (which isn't very often). I see cute things all the time. I have I can make that syndrome. Sometimes I can make it and sometimes I really can't or maybe shouldn't. I've also been sort of dreaming of having a craft blog so here you go...
