Weekend Craftiness

I've been running low on baby gifts for a while so I finally had a little time to catch up a little. I did iron on applique for most of the gifts a few weeks and finally got the sewing done yesterday. I got all stocked up and finished a few gifts. It's totally normal to finish baby gifts after the shower right?!?

Circus Shower

Celsey and I hosted a circus themed baby shower for churchy friends Jenny and Lindsey. The theme was so cute and fun, and the food was even better. Too bad we were in the kitchen 95% of the shower and didn't get many pictures...blogger fail. We had elephant cake, peanuts, popcorn, homemade churros, pretzel dogs, lemonade, and cotton candy. We decorated the table with popcorn containers full of peanuts, tickets, red, yellow, and blue circles, and party hats. I really am so sad I didn't get better pictures.

Graduation Craft

Churchy friend Lindsey B graduated last week. It was the perfect excuse to make these cutest little graduation treats. We used this tutorial from bakerella and changed it up a little. We used plain hershey bars for the top. I'm still dying at the cuteness of the little things.

congrats Lindsey B on graduating

Gluten Free Lemon Bars

I already confessed over on my other blog that I watch the Bachelor. I know it's a total waste of time, but it's practically the only TV time waster I have. When Tenley from the Bach tweeted about gluten free lemon bars I was so excited. My initial thoughts were...a. i love lemon bars and b. finally something good is coming from the bach. They weren't terrible, but they weren't as good as I hoped. They were pretty eggy tasting. I really liked the crust. The top just tasted too much like eggs for me. I really want to make it again. I love anything that's no flour and no sugar. How can I get the top layer to have the right consistency without tasting like eggs? Let me know if you try it out.

Go here for the recipe. Maybe I did something wrong.

Baby Gift

I bought this print from livylovedesigns at the Bijou Market back in December. I finally got around to finishing the project of framing it for co-worker Aly's baby gift. Celsey's mom helped me made the frame in her awesome wood shop. I painted it white and framed the print. I love how it turned out.
