Craft Night Out

My friend Bonny hosted a Craft Night Out. The craft for the night was a candy corn wreath. It looked way more intense than it actually was. It ended up being really easy and a lot of fun. I haven't seen Bonny in over a year so it was really fun to catch up with her and meet a couple of her friends. I love how it turned out so much that I'm thinking of repeating the craft with spray painted beans for the winter holidays.

More Headbands

People always comment on my flowers that I wear in my hair practically every day. I made a couple a few weeks ago to give as gifts. I get "you should sell those" all the time. I sometimes wonder if I should sell them or other things or if it would just be a huge pain in the rear.

Bedroom Crafts

My bedroom is finally on the verge of done. Here are a couple of my projects for my room.
this is a little weird, but i kind of like it. i painted a canvas the same color as my dresser and spray painted twigs the same color as the dresser handles. i hot glued the twigs and sealed with spray mod podge.

this is finally hanging on the wall. i painted the canvases brown. the cream picture is vinyl. stay tuned for a post about my whole room.

Chalkboard Coasters

I've been dying to make these chalkboard coaster for months. I think they turned out so cute. I found a tutorial online, but I can't remember where. I didn't take pictures along the way, but here's the step by step.

Supplies
*$0.16 tiles from Home Depot
*chalkboard paint (can find at Home Depot, craft stores, Wal-mart)
*acrylic paint in various colors
*sticky back felt
*diamond glaze or something else to seal the acrylic paint

1. The original tutorial said to sand the tiles first before painting them. I didn't do that, but it might be a good idea.
2. Paint tiles with chalkboard paint. It may take 2-3 coats. Make sure to let paint completely dry before next coat.
3. Paint design in corner of coaster.
4. Seal with diamond or other glaze. Only paint the design so the rest of the coaster is still a chalkboard.
5. Cut small squares of felt and put on back of tile so it doesn't scratch surfaces.

Wrap in cellophane with a piece of chalk. It's the perfect gift.

Craft Afternoon

A few weeks ago, a couple girls at work and I decided to skip work and have craft day. Too bad that plan didn't make it to my calendar. Kimber, Brianna, Holly, and I got together for a day (or afternoon in my case) of crafting fun. They made really cute fall wreaths. Holly and I made more fabric flowers. Brianna and Kimber working on some of the cutest baby hats I have ever seen. I was dying over the gray and yellow one.

the brim on this little boy hat is killing me
this is a baby hat, but i MUST have it immediately

Holidays

I LOVE holidays...all holidays, and I LOVE holiday decorations. My current residence is not all that conducive to holiday decorating, but I pulled out a few things tonight. Makes me a little excited for the holidays to start.
